Berdene Segal is the founder of Be Better Health and Wellness and is an Integrative Health Consultant. Her work focuses on nervous system regulation, chronic condition support, and patient education, always in collaboration with medical professionals.

Focus: Root-cause, whole-person care across gut-brain-immune health, stress reduction, sleep, reduction of neuroinflammation, systemic inflammation, trauma-informed care and techniques, and mitochondrial (cellular health and energy production) and skin health.
Berdene Segal is an Integrative Health Consultant with 40 years of clinical experience. She holds a BSc in Physiotherapy from the University of the Witwatersrand (1982), an Advanced Master’s Degree in Integrative Medicine from Tech University, and is a CranioSacral Therapy Practitioner with certificates from the Upledger Institute® in SomatoEmotional Release and CST Touching The Brain: Stimulating Self-Correction Through the Glial Interface – CTTB1 / CranioSacral Therapy for the Central Nervous System. Her clinical experience was gleaned from practising physiotherapy and collaborating with many doctors, dentists, and specialists across diverse fields within medicine and dentistry — including in: NHS hospitals in the United Kingdom, government facilities, and 32 years in general private practice treating neurological, orthopaedic, and soft-tissue conditions with a special interest in TMJ/TMD disorders.
Throughout her career, Berdene practised physiotherapy in a deeply Integrative manner — always considering the broader clinical picture and the interconnections between body systems. It was this approach that encouraged her to embark on formal studies within Integrative medicine, leading to her Advanced Master’s Degree in Integrative medicine and her transition to Integrative health consulting. The transition from conventional physiotherapy to Integrative health consulting was driven by consistent clinical observation: patients with complex, multi-system presentations require more than single-modality treatment. A TMJ disorder may involve CranioSacral system restriction. Chronic pain may be sustained by neuroinflammation and gut dysbiosis. Fatigue may reflect mitochondrial (impaired cellular function and energy production) compounded by HPA axis dysregulation.
Berdene works alongside medical teams — never independently. She does not diagnose, prescribe, or alter medications. No changes to medications will be made. Supplement and herbal guidance is provided only with physician approval. No hormonal therapy recommendations are made. Her role is to provide the Integrative clinical reasoning that connects systems and supports the patient’s overall programme.
